Ida Gray, First African American Female Dentist (1867-1953)

Raised in Tennessee, Ida Gray Nelson Rollins had a dental practice, first in Cincinnati, then Chicago.  She had trained and apprenticed, then passed the entrance exam for the University of Michigan School of Dentistry.

In a Jim Crow Era, she had both white and Black patients as clients.
